The Point is all about pointing students toward being disciples who love God, love people, and reach the world. We want to partner with you to create a foundation that students can lean on in some of the toughest growing years of their life and will be an anchor for them when they leave the student ministry and ultimately your home. When they leave, we want them to be able to do three things:
-See God for who He is
-See the way He sees
-Love the way He loves
We meet weekly in a service for students on both campuses at 10:45am. Students experience worship through music, relevant, engaging teaching, and groups where they can dive a little deeper as well as building meaningful relationships.
Your student will also have opportunities to do all the fun stuff that youth groups are known for. Through monthly events and summer trips we create avenues for students to enjoy one another, go deeper in faith, and reach their friends.
Along the way there are events/moments that we want to mark and highlight to reinforce the three key truths for your student . We call them Milestones:
Key Idea: Identity (See the way He sees)
My Character (Milestone=Holiness)
Marker…Identity Retreat each year where we rotate three aspects of holiness (Purity, Integrity, Charity) and help students build solid character as they enter high school. Parents are involved by attending a meeting the week before the event in The Point to learn how to bring the ideas home.
My Calling (Milestone=8th Grade graduation)
Marker…Ceremony marking the end of middle school ministry and a reminder to their call to holiness. Parents are involved in marking this occasion by attending the event and participating with their student.
Key Idea: Community (Love the way He loves)
My Commitment (Milestone: Living Faith)
-Marker…Amplify Retreat each year where we rotate four aspects of commitment to community, with ceremony at the end of each retreat to mark their commitment (Time, Talent, Treasure, Trophies). Parents are involved by attending a meeting the week before the event in The Point to learn how to bring the ideas home.
My Commission (Milestone: High School Graduation)-Marker… Ceremony marking not just the end of high school and graduation but the beginning of the next part of their journey. They will be reminded they are disciples, commissioned to go in the world and make more disciples. Parents are involved by attending the event and participating.
Hopefully this introduces you to our ministry and answers many of your questions. If you have anymore, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will be glad to assist you!
