I’m 27 years old, and I’ve lived in Covington all my life. I graduated from Atlanta Christian College in 2010 with a degree in Biblical Studies and a minor in Youth Ministry, and I’ve been married to Tara for five years. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and dogs - hiking, kayaking, or playing sports - and also watching movies and writing. I also enjoy reading C.S. Lewis and many other Christian writers, and listening to sermons by John Piper, Louie Giglio, Judah Smith, Francis Chan, and Matt Chandler.
A verse of Scripture that I always come back to is 1 Corinthians 2:1-2, where Paul says that his goal in ministry is NOT to preach with eloquence or persuasive arguments, but to preach Christ crucified. I just love the simplicity of what Paul is saying and the implied power of the Gospel. The Gospel transcends all barriers, and brings forth a transformative power that the most wise and persuasive argument cannot. As a pastor and preacher, I love the freedom of knowing that the Gospel is greater than me!
